When I first contacted Lara my son was six months old and waking every night two hours after he went to sleep for the night. His naps were all over the place and basically it was impossible for anyone in our family to get any rest! My husband and I can’t thank Lara enough for her help with our 9 month old son. When we first hired Lara, our son was still nursing for 20+ minutes 1 – 2 times in the night and often it was the only thing that would calm him enough to go back to sleep. The times that he would wake were also not very consistent, which made it difficult to stay up or enjoy a date night out. We were still operating on a nap schedule based on ‘awake times’, which also made getting out of the house at specific times very difficult. By night 6 of the changes, our son was sleeping 11-12 hours a night with only a short dreamfeed, and his nights have been amazing ever since (even when we went on a 8 day vacation to 3 locations)! Lara also helped us get our son on a nap schedule, which has made it much easier to plan our daily outings. Lara has been an absolute blessing. I first reached out to Lara when baby P was only 3.5 months old. However, because she was so young, I had feared that a) it was too early to start sleep training b) the only solution was an aggressive “cry it out” approach and c) it wouldn’t work. Let me start by saying, it’s NEVER too early to start on good sleep habits! Frankly, I wish I started earlier! When I started working with Lara, baby P was waking 3-4 times per night for a feed and while her naps were ok, they were fairly inconsistent. Within 3 nights of solid sleep changes, baby P was down to 1 night waking and by the end of week 2, she was sleeping throughout the night. Fast forward 1 month later and baby P consistently sleeps a 12 hour stretch from 7pm to 7am! I actually forgot what it felt like to have a good nights sleep! I never thought that it would be possible to have a 4 month old sleeping through the night, but baby P is living proof! Lara does not give you a “one size fits all” approach. She is incredibly thorough and provides solutions that are tailored to your baby and in line with your goals. She provided us with a very gentle approach (the opposite of the aggressive “cry it out” model I feared). More importantly, and what I appreciated the most, was that Lara was there with us every step of the way. Whenever we hit a road block or there was a regression, Lara was there tweaking the plan and providing the support and advice to get us to our goal. Since working with Lara, I have noticed such a positive change in baby P’s temperament. She is such a happy baby and I attribute a lot of that to her healthy sleep habits. For anyone thinking of sleep training, my advice would be to do it! I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with Lara and I would highly recommend her!
